I. General Info About the Career Fair
- Similar to other career fairs at MIT, MIT Asian Career Fair is a student-run event under the direction of MIT Career Development Office.
- We highly value the participation of your company. Compared with other career fairs, our strength lies in the fact that we will, based on your company's recruiting need, target specific groups of students (e.g., engineering students, management students, students from specific regions, students interested in one specific area). We have different channels to reach out to different groups of students at MIT as well as other major universities in Boston. So please always feel free to let us know your recruiting need, and we will address the need accordingly.
- We have data of successful recruiting cases from previous years' recruitment, as well as job market data for MIT students in general, which can serve as a guidance for your recruitment here.
- The last MIT Asian Career Fair was held on Saturday, March 7th, 2015 from 10am to 4pm.
- Info Sessions for each participating company were held during weekdays of the same week (mostly on Thursday and Friday). Each Info Session was around 1 to 2 hours long. The participation was from 40 students to 100 students.
- Interview Sessions were held on the same day as the event.
- Time: March 5th, 2016 (Career Fair); March 3rd - 4th (Info Sessions)
- Location: MIT Student Center, 2nd floor (W20)
- Please note that early-bird registration ends at the end of November.
- Publicity starts one month before the event. The closer it is to the event day, the more frequently we publicize.
- From our previous experience, the publicity is a great channel to get exposure for your company to MIT students, and to other universities as well.
- We use different kinds of channels to publicize the event and your company too. These include printed posters, emails, our website, Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter.
- The printed posters will be set up on campus and emails will be sent to all students.
- If you want to target a specific group of students, please let us know beforehand. With the collaboration of MIT Career Development Office and MIT International Student Office and other different organizations, we can almost certainly guarantee that we will connect your company with the students of your interest.
II.ABOUT PARTICIPATING STUDENTS
- We have received 1127 resumes. 626 students attended the Career Fair (average 104 attendees per hour. A breakdown according to the time-frame is that 270 attendees before noon from 10am to 12pm, and 356 attendees from 12pm to 4pm).
- Majorities of participants are from China for the previous event.
- However, this was in line with the fact that this event was initiated by a group of Chinese students and the previous events were leaned towards Chinese employers. Although we are still mostly Chinese students in the team, we want to officially expand our services to all Asian companies this year. This is actually our focus for the upcoming Fair.

152 MIT, 126 Northeastern University, 63 Boston University, 33 Brandeis University, 32 Harvard University, 24 Worcester Polytechnic Institute, 15 Brown University, 11 Columbia University, 11 Tufts University.
We don't have exact statistics to this respect, but we have data for students of different graduation years:
- For graduation in 2013: 78 attendees (graduates who had yet to find a job).
- For graduation in 2014: 245 attendees (most of these graduates looking for full-time job).
- For graduation in 2015: 95 attendees (most looking for intern);
- For graduation before 2013: 32 attendees.
III.ABOUT PARTICIPATING Companies
- Around 25 companies.
- There were 12 employers from Mainland China, 3 from Japan, 1 from Taiwan, 1 from Singapore, 1 from Malaysia, 1 from the United States (targeting Asian students).
- During the Career Fair day, companies usually start preparing the event 30 minutes before the Career Fair started.
- For Info Sessions (before the Career Fair), companies need 15 minutes to set up the posters and audio/video devices and probably 30 minutes afterward for Q&A.
- For Interview Sessions (on the same day of the Career Fair), we use MIT Career Office's interview room. It's cubicles specifically designed for interviews.
- During the Career Fair, we use services provided by Dame Associates Inc. for booth set-up :

- Selected data for a few companies from last event is as following: 200+ resumes received, ~50 selected for interview, ~20 offers, ~10 accepted.
